The Induver group, consisting of the following legal persons: Induver Antwerpen nv, Induver Gent nv, Induver Hasselt nv and Group Verbaet nv (hereinafter "the office), takes your rights concerning data processing seriously. In this document, we explain how we gather, process and use your personal data. It constitutes the office's general policy in the field of data processing in accordance with the applicable legislation including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

As an insurance broker, the office may fulfil a dual role in terms of data processing. In that case, we are both the controller and the processor. We assume the role of the controller when we process data on our own behalf or on our own account. We furthermore fulfil the role of processor for the insurance companies. In this statement we will only examine processing your data as a controller.

Dependent on the office with which you collaborate, the controller for processing is

Induver Antwerpen nv (bus. reg. nr.0441.036.828),

Induver Gent nv (bus. reg. nr.0441.035.145), or

Induver Hasselt nv  (bus. reg. nr.0441.034.947).

If you have any queries concerning our privacy policy, please contact us through the email address . For any queries involving more than a simple request for information, we would ask you to proof your identity so that we can be sure we are providing the information and data requested to the right person.

When does our office gather and process data?

The office gathers and processes data about you when you contact us seeking advice concerning insurance policies, offering or proposing insurance policies, performing preparatory work with a view to taking out insurance policies, and concluding insurance policies itself. You can furthermore also contact us to request assistance in managing and implementing the insurance policies you have taken out. We will also (need to) process your data when you contact us in any other manner. Lastly, we might also obtain information concerning you through third parties, and use this information to approach you for taking out a policy through our intermediation.

What data does our office gather and process?

The office gathers and processes data you have provided to us as a result of contact with the office such as name, address, email address and professional data, such as company name and VAT number. This also concerns all data necessary for allowing us to estimate your insurance requirements. Among other things, this involves data concerning your home (within the scope of fire insurance), your financial data (in the case of investment insurance) and medical data (in the case of health insurance). Your data is only processed within the scope of the insurance you have contacted us for, unless you wish otherwise and have stated so.

We gather this data when you manually fill in our documents and forms, as well as when you do so electronically. Cookies are used on any time you might visit our website. For further information in this regard, please contact the office.

For what reasons does our office gather and process data?

The reasons why we process data vary in nature and are explained below.

We process this data for our clients for the purpose of client management, in particular accepting, managing and concluding insurance policies and promoting other products and services of our office itself. These processing operations are principally based on the contractual relationship with our clients, but also on your explicit permission insofar as this concerns prospecting.

Concerning suppliers, we process this data within the scope of our supplier management and based on the contractual relationship we have or build up with our suppliers.

Insofar as this concerns prospects, who are natural persons who are not (yet) our clients, we process data for direct marketing purposes, based on our justified interest to do business. We ask prospects approached by email for their explicit permission to also approach them in the future. We ask prospects approached by letter to tick an opt-out clause if they do not wish to be approached by us any further.

Regarding our employees, we process data for purposes such as staff management and wage administration.

Concerning our website, we coordinate its content and ease of use as much as possible with you as its users. We furthermore process data so as to comply with the obligations resulting from providing a website and its content, and to enable you to use the interactive applications and services on this website.

What are the basic principles for our office processing data?

In principle we gather and process your data based on the contractual relationship we have with you as a result of your request or query in connection with an insurance requirement and the agreement(s) resulting from this, as well as resulting from the request to assist you in managing and monitoring insurance contracts you have concluded.

Where processing is not necessary for conducting the contractual relationship, it is based on our justified interests as a company, in particular the freedom of enterprise and information. Moreover, we always ensure there is balance between our interests and yours, such as by assigning you a right to object.

Insofar as this involves health data or what is known as sensitive data, we can only process your personal data if we have your explicit permission. This is requested the moment you become our client. If this has not occurred, please let us know so that we can remedy this.

Is your data passed on to third parties?

Your data is primarily processed internally. It must nevertheless be communicated to the insurance company with which you eventually conclude the contract.

It is possible we might engage third parties for certain specific services. In such cases, your data may be provided to these third parties, but only for the service concerned and always under our office’s control.

In certain cases there is a legal obligation to provide certain data. That is particularly the case if we are obliged to do so by law, or government bodies are entitled to request data from us.

In principle, your data is not forwarded to third-party countries or to international organisations.

Your rights

The regulation assigns various rights for ensuring you are sufficiently protected.

You can at all times object to your our office using your data for direct marketing purposes. If you do not wish to remain informed of our office’s offers, please report this at or by ticking a box in the information provided to you in specific circumstances.

You are at all times able to view the data we process concerning you and, if necessary, have this corrected. To do so, all you need to do is request this at, with proof of your identity. We ask you for this so as to prevent your data being communicated to someone not entitled to this.

If you do not agree with the way we process your data, you can at all times lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse/Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels. You can also enquire here for general questions concerning processing and protecting personal data.

Our office reserves the right to amend this statement. Amendments will be announced to users through the website.
